About This Site

This site is intended to be a news and multimedia outlet for any kind of new developments in Implant Dentistry or Laser Dentistry and how you can benefit from it. So in essence, this website was created with you, the consumer in mind. Through the years I have observed many patients and registered many of your wishes, questions and also complaints. This was really the impetus behind me setting up a website that offers educational material to you, so that you can become a more informed consumer or patient.

So I suppose this can then be considered to be a "vault" for and ever-growing collection of videos, Power Point™ presentations, white papers, PDF files, and various images. As time progresses, I will constantly add new media to this site. I encourage you to use any of these files for personal use or educational purposes, however proper credit referencing is always appreciated.

So why me, you ask? Well, I do have a fair degree of expertise and above all passion for both of these specialties as you can see in my Biography, but more importantly, I have decided to become an advocate for you, the patient or consumer, instead of other professionals - they have enough of those as it is!! I never felt quite right about perceiving patients as a potential "threat", which is what many doctors do. I wanted to become a person that can relate to patients through compassion, rather dominate through superior knowledge. It is my sincere hope that you feel comfortable sharing your concerns, questions and comments with me. I will do my very best to answer those as best and as honestly as I can. Although this website will be updated quite regularly, nothing beats a Blog when it comes to getting immediate info and sharing opinions, questions and concerns with the entire community. Implant Dentistry

Implant Dentistry is not an "officially" recognized specialty by the American Dental Association. However, with over 50 journals dedicated to this field world wide, countless of academies and organizations focusing on it and owning the title as one of the fastest advancing fields of Dentistry, I think it almost deserves to be looked upon as a specialty. Regardless, Implant Dentistry encompasses both the surgical aspect as well as the restorative aspect of the entire dental implant process. In other words, surgery and implant tooth. Laser Dentistry

Laser Dentistry is a relatively new field and also growing very rapidly. Lasers have always been looked at as a "solution in search of a problem" in Dentistry. Today, however, the question is no longer "whether lasers should be used in dentistry", but rather "how can we best apply them". Advances in laser technology and have brought us new hardware which introduced us to concepts like biostimulation and laser tissue and bone surgery. All these new advances can potentially make dental treatment more comfortable and predictable for the patient. So, this page will also offer a wealth of multimedia information for you, so that you can form a better picture about lasers in dentistry.
